VV-XIV był popularnym modelem Victrola wycenionym z „wyższego i średniego” zakresu. Wprowadzony w 1910 roku model XIV był pozycjonowany jako tańsza alternatywa dla bardzo udanej (ale bardzo drogiej) serii VV-XVI.

Było to w czasach, gdy posiadanie Victroli było uważane za bardzo prestiżowy przedmiot. Model XIV miał przypaść do gustu klientom menadżerskim lub profesjonalnym, którzy chcieli mieć w swoim pokoju muzycznym „ponadprzeciętną” Victrolę.

 W ciągu 11 lat produkcji stał się on 6 najlepiej sprzedającym się modelem Victora wszechczasów.

Urządzenie jest sprawne i posiada wszystkie części oryginalne

 Gramofon jest kompletny i gotowy do odtwarzania płyt; bardzo ładnie gra, a mechanizm jest cichy.

Gramofon działa na korbę. Posiada napęd mechaniczny - nakręcaną korbą sprężynę i nie wymaga podłączania do prądu.

W Polsce urządzenie zwane jest, choć niepoprawnie, patefonem.

Umożliwi odsłuchanie płyt, ale tylko szelakowych, tj. grających przy prędkości 78 obrotów/minutę.

Jak w każdym gramofonie na korbę

nie jest możliwe odtworzenie płyty winylowej!

The VV-XIV or "Victrola the Fourteenth" was a popular Victrola model priced in the 'upper-middle' range. Introduced in 1910, the XIV was positioned as a lower-priced alternative to the highly successful (but very expensive) VV-XVI series.

This was at a time when a Victrola was considered to be a very prestigious item to own. The XIV was intended to appeal to the managerial or professional customer who wanted an 'above average' Victrola in their music room.

Sales of the XIV took off after the cabinet was redesigned in 1912, reaching a peak production level of over 50,000 units annually by 1920. During its 11-year production run, it became Victor's #6 top-selling model of all time. More than 260,000 VV-XIV phonographs were produced between 1910 and 1921, which is remarkable considering its rather steep price tag.

At introduction, the XIV cost $150.00, which equates to over $4,100.00 in today's money!

Since there were three distinct variations of the VV-XIV model, they will be split into major chronological groupings.
