This monumental soundtrack was composed by Jerry Goldsmith, one of cinema’s greatest composers.
Released by EMI Records in 1973, it contains the original score for the award-winning film Papillon, based on Henri Charrière’s autobiographical novel about escaping a French penal colony. The music is considered one of Goldsmith’s most powerful 1970s works – dark, tense, emotional and beautifully orchestrated.
